Hi, I'm new to Durham and found this site.  I would love to make foodie friends (and friends in general) and try the various gastronomical adventures that the RTP area has to offer.

I'm a just-employed female in my mid 20s working at Duke and would like to make friends/foodie buddies with fellow professionals/grad students.  Couples, married people, single people, etc are all cool with me, I just want to meet people & make friends!

Let me know if you're up for going out for food + wine (hehehe) after work or on the weekends.

Welcome to the area.  Between this site and some of the food blogrolls listed on it, you'll find plenty of reviews and see some places of where to go.  I'm in the Durham/Chapel Hill area and know a few people that work at Duke, but wouldn't say they are foodies or that they have the time (family committments) to become friends.  There are meet up groups but I'm not sure how great these are… for some reason they seem a bit creepy to me.  I'm not a wine person at all, but food is never a negative.  What places have you already been to yet?  The Durham area has good Indian, Mexican/Latin American and at least two good French Brasserie like places.

I sent the original poster a private message, but I don't know if she saw it.

My fiance and I are in a similar situation (we lived in Raleigh last year — saw the light and moved to Durham this summer) and would also enjoy going out (or eating in!) with folks who enjoy a good meal and a good glass/bottle of wine.  So please private message me if you're interested in hanging out.

Hello there,

I will be moving to Durham in mid-Dec. Also a newly-employed female in my mid-20s looking for friends to enjoy good food! I will be working with a company in Durham.

spusan, looks like we both have similar interests — I love exploring new food joints and trying out a great variety of food. I am looking forward to what Durham has to offer. spusan, you can contact me at apeleanor@hotmail.com.
