Does anyone know where the Indian food truck has gone?(the one that used to be next to Sam’s Quickstop)
[Reply]
We’ve tried to go a few times over the past couple of weeks – twice on a weekday at 5-ish and once on a Saturday for a late lunch – but no truck. Anyone had success finding it lately?
[Reply]
i called sam’s, they said the guy is having electrical issues and said he’ll probably be back next week.
[Reply]
We found the truck in the Nice Price Books parking lot. It sounds like he’ll be there for a while. Mmmmm… chicken curry!
Dollar General on Broad Street!
Talked to the Indian Food Truck guy last week and he says he’s going to be at Nice Price everyday from 5-9pm and is working on a permit for lunch. He is on twitter, though not the best at updating and confirming his location.

I drove past Pupuseria & Taqueria Orellana this evening and they had what appeared to a bright yellow Orellana food truck parked in their lot. I’ve never seen it before and don’t know if it is up and running yet, but wanted to share the news.
[Reply]
We went to the Durham Green Flea Market a few weekends ago and Orellana were there with their new food truck. Don’t know if they’re going any other places though.
[Reply]
Everyone should check out a new food truck/trailer I saw in South Durham. Chef Mike’s Blue Sky Dining, they have a website and are on Facebook. www,blueskydiningnc.com

Just found a new food truck (well, cart) in Durham! Joey D’s, a hot-dog cart bringing Buffalo, NY dogs to Durham, opened last Friday at The Rock Shop on Hillsborough. I had their Carolina Dog (dog, chili, slaw) and it was outstanding! Joey D’s distinguishes themselves by grilling their dogs (they have an actual grill built in to the cart) rather that boiling/heating in water. Prices are reasonable- $3 for a regular size dog, $3.50 for a footlong. I believe they will be at The Rock Shop everyday- definitely worth a stop!
[Reply]
They were at the beer festival this bast weekend and it was the worst hot dog I have ever had.
[Reply]
Check out Joey D’s at the Rock Shop for a grilled hot dog or sausage like you would have in your back yard. They are located at the Rock Shop at 3121 Hillsborough Road. Their site is http://www.joeydsnydogs.com
Great dog unlike any other you’ll find in Durham.
[Reply]
Just went to Joey D’s. It’s a really good hot dog, which fills a niche in Durham since it’s not easy to find a good one around here. Nice snap to the dog that comes from grilling it and the meat is a good quality which makes a big difference in the taste.
I recommend checking this place out. I hope he’s invited to the next food truck roundup so he can get some more exposure.
[Reply]
Do you know who runs the truck round up. We would be more than happy to participate and introduce our products to the Durham community.
[Reply]
I believe Brian at Only Burger was usually heading them up. They were monthly for a little while but not certain when next one is scheduled.
[Reply]
Thanks for trying us out and glad you enjoyed our food. Appreciate the nice comments.
[Reply]
Hey everyone,
Just because it’s raining it doesn’t mean you can’t get a great hot dog or sausage. Joey D’s is open for business rain or shine at 3121 Hillsborough Road in the parking lot of the Rock Shop. We have tents so you won’t get wet. Come try the best flame grilled (that’s right flame grilled)hot dog in Durham shipped in from Buffalo New York along with the best sausages and rolls. We have an awesome horseradish mustard you should try.

Starting today, November 2nd we will be located Monday through Friday from 11:00 until 2:00p.m. and beyond depending on how hungry everyone is on the corner of Erwin Road and LaSalle Street next to the Suntrust Bank. We are very excited about this new location so walk up and get a grilled hotdog or sausage and enjoy.

Is it the popularity that causes the much to high prices on these food trucks or are their sales numbers not what we think they are (high!)
[Reply]
Yeah! I sensed that food trucks will be coming back in the business. I prefer this than delivery cause you can see how the food is handled. When I visited my aunt at Australia they had a similar way like this, its called frozen party food sydney . Its like a mini food festival at your place. Its quite delighting if all of your neighbors are there and eating with you.

I am working on trying to set up a presentation for my boss for lunch hours of the employess at our training facility and I thought it would be nice to have a food truck around for lunch time. IF you or someone you know might have some information for me i would greatly appreciate it.
