One of the reasons we love Durham is its unabashed enthusiasm for itself! And this Saturday’s Marry Durham is sure to take the cake.

This Saturday March 19 is Marry Durham Day. Sure to be quite the spectacle, events include an official ceremony, a parade, food trucks, music and more.  Some of Durham’s finest will be out to show their support including WUNC’s Frank Stasio, Mayor Bill Bell and Wool E. Bull.

Looking for a special dinner for Valentine’s Day? The (sometimes-dreaded) day of all things love is quickly approaching and now is the time to secure a reservation. We’ve eaten at Silver Spoon many times over the last year or so, but almost always for breakfast. When you walk in the door, you’re greeted by smiling wait staff that almost always will call you “sugar”, “hon” or some other endearing term. It’s usually filled with a wide range of people, all regulars I’m sure. Everyone seems to know who everyone else is and you’ll get a smile from anyone (including customers) you make eye contact with. We are just a bit late posting on this, but Triangle Restaurant Week is going on as we speak (May 11 – 17).  Restaurants across the Triangle are offering prix fixe menus ($15 for lunch, $25 for dinner) — at some of these places, this is a great deal.  We have reservations for pretty much every day!
