Soom Soom Pockets

Posted by DID 27 Oct 2015 2 Comments

As I’m going to catch up on some long over due posts (apologies, we had a baby in August), I’m going to keep the next few posts short and sweet. First up, Soom Soom pockets.

Soom Soom brings a bit of beloved Mediterranian Deli in Chapel Hill to the streets of Durham. Med Deli makes Soom Sooms pitas for them out of organic flour. We tried their chicken shwarma pita recently, a bit pricey at $9 with no sides but you’re paying for the quality, responsibly sourced ingredients. It does come with a Middle Eastern pickle. The chicken was tasty if a bit sparse, balanced with slivers of red onion, hunks of cucumber and a tahini highlighted with tangy sumac.

Soom Soom is regularly parked outside of Cocoa Cinnamon on Wednesday nights. Keep track of where Soom Soom will be on their site.

Their food is really good I found! We enjoy them when they’ve been at the farmers market.

    And congrats on the baby!

The owner is one of the nicest guys around. I’ve only tried his veggie options, but they never seem to amaze! The freshness and quality is superb to say the least.
