Social Games and Brews

Posted by DID 5 Jun 2014 3 Comments

Casbah transitioned into a new game bar a few months ago and has been rebranded as Durham Social Game and Brews. They’ve taken out the stage and the sound booth and replaced them with a much larger and longer bar, some arcade games, a foosball table and a 22′ shuffle board.

Social Games and Brews also has an impressive line up of some 30 beer taps and Durham’s Brood soda.

The games include a Back to the Future pinball machine, a Baywatch pinball, a Mrs. Pacman, Trophy Hunter, R-Type and a bowling game. The games do cost 50 cents.

There is also a large stack of board games by the door and a pool table. Social has teamed up with a service called Crowd Tunes that lets you sync up your phone to the bar’s jukebox and control the tunes that are playing.

Social does have daily specials and events including weekly trivia. With a great beer list, some cool games, and a relaxed vibe – Social is a nice addition to Durham’s bar scene.

“A new game’s bar”? “Lets you sink up your phone”? Seriously?

Yeah, I know what you mean. The misspellings, poor grammar and sloppy posts here at CD have been a trend for some time now. At least the errors in this post were corrected after you pointed them out. Also, have you noticed that the majority of reviews always use the word, “excellent”? As in, “everything was excellent”. “The food was excellent”, etc.

Yes. They always used to say everything was “tasty.” Progress?
