Sourwood Brewing Company

Another new fun beverage on tap in Durham is Sourwood Cider. We were able to snag a glass of the tasty cider on tap at Geer Street Garden. From Sourwood’s facebook page, Sourwood is making¬†European-style dry ciders.

It’s a refreshing change from many of the super sweet ciders available. With the every growing part of the population avoiding gluten, a local cidery is an exciting addition to the bull city.

Sourwood describes their cider as “crisp, slightly tart, and dry with a light apple nose. It has been compared to a sparkling white wine and is for the craft beer drinker.” Sourwood also says that they will add more cider flavors and some carbonated meads in the future.

Sourwood does have a handy-dandy map of the spots with their cider. They are on twitter and facebook.
