Brood Soda

Posted by DID 13 Feb 2014 2 Comments

Did you know Durham has its very own soda company? We spotted Brood Soda on the shelves at our beloved beer mecca Sam’s and were really impressed by the flavor variety. Available in six flavors, three of which pay tribute to local universities, there should be a Brood for everyone.

Based on the lengthy, clever descriptions listed on Sam’s cooler, we went with a Spicy Brood (thai chili and cloves). If you’re a fan of Blenheim’s spicy ginger ale, then you’ll dig this corn-syrup free soda – sweet, smooth with a slow burn heat.

Other flavors are Wolf (cinnamon), Devil (ginger/ginseng), Ram (white grape/peppermint),  Sweet (citrus), and Sour.

Again, we found it at Sam’s. A bottle costs $2.39. Brood’s site doesn’t have a full list of spots to find their soda, but we’re ¬†guessing it will start popping up around town.

Rose’s Meat Market and Sweet Shop has them too. I haven’t tried them yet, but now I’m going to have to.

I guess I need to add a stop at Sam’s to my schedule today. They sound fantastic!
