Old North Durham Block Party!

It’s time for the second block party of the year in Old North Durham.  Will & Pop’s will be there.  So will Capt. Poncho’s, among others.  Though of particular interest is the presence of (former) Old North Durham resident, Pork in the Road.  It’s a great opportunity to taste some goodies from a food-truck-in-the-making.

Since I took a shine to Pork in the Road when it was campaigning for crowd-sourced funds, I contacted Mr. Thompson to catch up on his progress.  He has plans drawn up for retrofitting his truck from an ambulance to a rolling kitchen.  Next week the truck will be at the shop to begin its transformation to being fully porked out.  As Pork in the Road will be the only non-operational ‘truck,’ I also thought I’d post what to expect at Mr. Thompson’s table.  He will offer up pulled pork sliders with that same apple fennel slaw, vegan BBQ sliders (however that works), and two sauce options to suit your fancy.

Hopefully the weather cooperates!

Free.  2-8pm.  Between E. Trinity and E. Lynch.

Did anybody make it to this? My lady was sick so I had to tend to her in lieu of sampling block party goodness. I’m really curious.
