Harvest Festival in Historic Stagville

Posted by CDB 5 Sep 2013 No Comments

This Saturday, September 6, the Historic Stagville Foundation is hosting a food and history festival featuring food historian and chef Michael Twitty.  There will be mule and wagon rides for family fun as well as some free tastings of traditional grub.  The daytime events are free and open to the public.  Click here for more information about the festival.  The weather looks to be great for a stroll around an impressive and important piece of Durham history.

In the evening there is a 19th century dinner prepared in an open hearth by Mr. Twitty with the help of James Beard winner Hugh Acheson from Athens, GA.  The dinner has sold out already; sad for us, but great for the Foundation.  If you attend the dinner please let us know what you think!
