Spectre Arts, our new favorite space in town, is having something like a pie social this Sunday at 4pm.

There will be sweet and savory pies, lemonade, beer and wine for a $20 donation to a program that supports the creation of public works of art in Durham. Local restaurants from around town will donate the pies. Note: There will be gluten-free options.

Get tickets here.

If you haven’t checked out Spectre Arts during a Third Friday or other event, it’s simply lovely. A simple cinderblock building, that once housed a church, has been turned into an art gallery/event space by Alicia Lange (who’s married to INDY photographer Jeremy Lange). With twinkle lights, a large stage, a cooler full of PBR and blanket-filled lawn – the real gem of Spectre Arts is their outdoor space. In addition to opening their doors every Third Friday, Spectre Arts is hoping to hold music/community/arts events more regularly. It is Durham’s newest, coolest community hang space.

Spectre Arts is located just next to Golden Belt.

Unfortunately, I can’t be there on Sunday, but thanks very much for posting this. I now know that I need to visit Spectre Arts.
