Foster’s on the Fly

Posted by DID 6 May 2013 2 Comments

The folks from Foster’s Market have entered the world of mobile eats with their latest venture – Foster’s on the Fly. Like Foster’s Market, a Durham staple for over two decades, the truck is serving up grub that features locally-sourced, seasonal ingredients. The idea behind the truck is that Foster’s will be able to take their food into new markets (Greensboro and beyond), but they have shown up around Durham this past month quite often.

Like the restaurant, the truck is offering fairly straight-ahead food that lets the ingredients shine. The BLT ($8) we sampled was excellent with locally-sourced bacon, fresh tomato, local lettuces on a baguette and topped with a Latta Farms egg. In addition to a rotating list of sandwiches the truck also is stocked with Foster’s well-known scones and cookies.

Find the truck here, Foster’s on the Fly, and on Twitter.
