Full Frame Festival

Posted by DID 9 Apr 2012 3 Comments

Full Frame Documentary Festival begins this week in Durham. Once again, even if you don’t have a festival pass, you can buy individual tickets to movies or attend one of the free short film screenings.

The free short film screenings will take place this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights in Central Park at sundown (approximately 8:30 pm).

The film schedule:
Friday, April 13: Metacarpus, Bitter and Sweet, A Love Supreme, Seltzer Works, Breadmakers, and Leche

Saturday, April 14: Picture Day, Crow Film, The Intimacy of Strangers, and Lost Book Found

Sunday, April 15: A Thousand Words, Caretaker for the Lord, For a Miracle (Po Cud), and Salt

There will also be food truck rodeos on Friday and Saturday nights during the free outdoor screenings. Trucks will start serving at 6:00pm. Friday will feature bikeCOFFEE, Monuts, Will and Pop’s, Klausie’s, Olde North State BBQ, OnlyBurger, and LoYo On the Go.

Saturday’s rodeo is sponsored by The Cookery and will include bikeCOFFEE, Monuts, Chirba Chirba, Pie Pushers, American Meltdown, The Parlour, Farmhand Food’s Sausage Wagon and the premier of new truckĀ Sympathy for the Deli.

I was lucky enough to sample some of Sympathy for the Deli’s pastrami and roast beef at a pre-opening tasting. Both samples of the hand-cured deli meats were not-surprisingly awesome. Sympathy for the Deli is the brainchild of Jonathan Richelson and his truck will serve “sandwiches featuring locally-sourced, sustainable meats hand-cured, roasted and smoked in Durham.” In addition to the truck, Sympathy for the Deli also offers catering.
